A Tongguan Kiln Ceramic Plate

The relic on the right hand-side was excavated by the Wenzhou Museum in China.

As you can see, the design of the ceramic plate was mixed with islamic element –the Islamic geometric patterns.

The geometric pattern has a close relationship with Islam.

• Geometric pattern was widely used in mosque decoration.

• The infinite extension is representing the infinite existence of Allah.

• The geometric pattern was not similar to traditional Chinese decoration such as animals and plants.
